The purpose of this thesis is to gain insight into educators? views and work with Circle time in preschool. To find out, I have referred to the following questions: How is your Circle time performed in preschool? What objectives have teachers with the Circle time? What impact has your Circle time for the children in preschool?I have chosen to carry out qualitative interviews with three preschool teachers. After the interviews, I compared the educators? response to previous research.The survey shows that the Circle time is one of the day´s highlights for preschool children.

Pedagogisk samling i förskolan : En kvalitativ studie om förskollärarnas tankar kring samlingens betydelse för barns språkliga och sociala utveckling

The purpose of this study is to examine how pre-school teachers think about the importance of Circle time in regard to the child's language and social development from a sociocultural perspective. Furthermore the study will include what role the educators? have during the Circle time.To answer our purpose we have chosen the following question:What is the role of the teachers in the Circle time?What are the teacher?s thoughts about the Circle time?s importance to children's social development?What are the teacher?s thoughts about the Circle time?s importance to children's language development?The study is constructed on qualitative methods, where we conducted structured interviews with six preschool teachers and observed their Circle time to collect our empirical material. The study is also based on Vygotsky's sociocultural perspective which says that all learning takes place through relations and interaction with other people in the cultural context you are in. The results have shown that pre-school teachers are aware of the Circle time?s importance to children?s development, and purposely plan the Circle time to give children the opportunity to develop both socially and linguistically skills..

Den pedagogiska samlingen i förskolan : En kvalitativ studie om förskollärarnas tankar kring samling

The purpose of this work is to explore and illuminate the Circle times function and importance of preschool by the pedagogue perspective and the Circle time design in relation to children's age group composition. The study questions are:What is the purpose of Circle time in preschool educational activities according to the teacher and how does the teacher look at his own role?How do the teachers plan, design and perform the Circle time of small children and big children's section? What similarities and differences exist?This is a qualitative study based on interviews with four preschool teachers and observations of their Circle times. Research and theories showed that the Circle time is a social training, provide a sense of community and is a ritual that gives a good daily rhythm.The results of the study demonstrate that the Circle time is an important routine that occurs for a short time daily in early childhood education. The Circle time organizes and structures the day for both children and staff group.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to describe and analyse the development of the public and the study circle libraries in the district of Kolbäck during the period of 1913-1954. The factors important for the library development described in sub-questions are: financing, locality, staffing, stock of books, book-lending level and uniting district effects. I use a hermeneutic interpretation model of interaction between the parts and the wholes, between reasons and results. This research leans mainly upon material which is sent to be deposited in archives in Hallstahammar, Västerås and Grängesberg.

What is written about the aesthetic subjects is related to the overall learning moments, rather than separated into objectives for each subject. Allocation of funds to public libraries is uneven and this study will try to explain the reasons and clarify why the allocations of funds are distributed like they are and what calculations influenced the financial apportionment. This master thesis accounts for allocation in seven public libraries in Uppsala. The study shows that one reason for uneven allocations is demographic. Another reason is that the library has come into a good or bad circle. There are no models for allocation of funds to public libraries in Uppsala, thats why their allocations are given after a percentage increase of earlier years allocations, and that leads to a good or bad circle.

Introduction When a child comes into a family changing conditions for the older sibling, who may feel left out. This can be a problem for parents who face new challenges towards the older sibling, which can lead to parents looking for advice and support. Parenting is an activity that strengthens the role of parents and provides information about children's health and social development. Purpose The purpose is to describe the parents' experiences of support in their parental role by participating in the sibling circle. Method Semi-structured focus group interview was conducted and qualitative content analysis was performed.

Jämställdhet i förskolans verksamhet : En observationsstudie om hur pedagoger förhåller sig till flickor och pojkar ur ett könsperspektiv

The purpose of this study is to look into if the pedagogues who participate in this study treat children differently depending on their sex. The purpose was then divided in three research questions which were: Attention: How much verbal attention and eye contact with the pedagogue are girls/boys getting? Choice of words: Are there any differences in the choice of words the pedagogues are using against girls/boys? Address: How does the pedagogue address girls/boys, are there any differences? The tone of the voice and how the pedagogue address girls/boys belongs in this category. The study was observed with video camera in four different Circle time situations, two Circle times for each preschool. Data were then analyzed with an observation schedule based on the three research questions.
